Employees often don't pay attention to their finances or try to improve their financial knowledge because the whole subject is just too ‘dry’ and ‘dull’.
Our experience shows, however, that there are other factors at work as well. Fear, uncertainty, confusion, and anxiety all play a role in preventing people from making good decisions.
IN POCKET is designed to support participants with a two-pronged approach of increasing financial literacy and supporting good behaviours. This combination of knowledge and action is what leads to more financially capable employees.
> But we are already offering finance seminars to our employees.
Face to face sessions can be effective but are not scalable and do not provide support over time. IN POCKET is an ongoing programme that supports learning and improvement over time - years, not days. While powerful as a call to action, we do not believe a one-shot event has the power to make real and lasting change in employee behaviour.
> We have tried a few projects but the uptake hasn't been great.
IN POCKET also recognises that employees are real people with busy schedules and conflicting demands on their time. It is available to participants at work and at home. With each new Issue of IN POCKET, the participant receives an email newsletter alerting them and highlighting the new content. They are then able to log in to their personal account at any time to go through the latest Issue - or to revisit or search previous content held in their ‘back pocket’ content archive.
> We find our employees are just not interested in the subject matter.
We know that if content is not found to be relevant, employees are unlikely to pay attention. For that reason, IN POCKET is highly interactive and personalised. It provides the participant with a flexible and user-friendly modular approach to covering a very broad curriculum. Modules come in all sorts of formats: video, interactive, audio, animation, downloads, etc. Using the latest digital technologies, IN POCKET delivers content in the same way as the most popular sources of entertainment and information on the web.
